The only issue with this is that you need to register your Starbucks card on their website but it is down – probably because so many people are trying to register their cards.

Welcome to Digg effect Starbucks.

I do think it is cool that they are doing this. I just happened to get a Starbucks card as a gift a few weeks back and registered it to get the free syrup ($0.30 a pop adds up!). Where I live there are hardly any places that have free Wifi so the Starbucks down the street will be my new best friend. If I need more then 2 hours of access I guess I will just need to get 2 card .

Update – 12:49pm: The site us back up (you can get to it) but you just cannot login to your Starbucks account .

Update – 4:51pm: Was able to get in. It took some digging but I was able to signup with my existing card. You have to go to Starbucks.com/card and either register a new card or sign in with your current Starbucks account. From there you can get your AT&T account for free Wifi. I will need to run down to Starbucks this evening to see how/if it works.

Update: 9:55pm – Was able to login here at Starbucks to the AT&T network. Wireless is LIVE! The Starbucks that I am at is on the outskirts of town so I would think that it should be activated everywhere.
